off to paris.....oui! oui!!

so thursday morning we woke up at the crack of dawn and navigated our way to the train station to get to the airport and our flight to paris...

time for the scam of the day:

we flew easyjet over to paris (europe's equivalent of southwest) where danny accepted all sorts of 'complimentary' snacks and beverages during the flight....i'm pretty sure puff was mumbling the whole time dude was handing us items "hey. those arent free. those arent free"...but seeing as how i normally ignore any suggestions puff might have i just kept shuffling the sweet treats into my bag and thinking the flight service was incredible....a couple seconds later the flight attendant told us owed him 30 euro....
$50 bucks for some airline snacks...like a real fool i had to dig the treats out of my bags and hand them back - explaining that we were not planning on paying....
other than that -(and puffs usual sawing of logs - see above) the flight was pretty normal.

we hustled and bustled once we got to paris to see as many things as we could in the 1/2 day we were spending there.....first we ate at a quaint and adorable cafe (Bistrot Richelieu) and from there - we took paris by storm...here is what we saw:

--Louvre (saw outside but not in)
--Seine River (which was beautiful)
--Pont Neuf (a bridge that crosses the Seine and is really old)
--Place de St. Michael (google it if you are curious)
--Sainte-Chapelle (the upper chapel had so much stained glass it looked like a jewelry box - see pic above)
--Notre Dame ( just as gorgeous as i figured it would be - see above)
--Champs-Elysees (a famous street in paris that leads to the arc de triomphe...let me just tell you that we walked this in the freezing rain which was pretty much awful!!)
--arc de triomphe (largest arc in the world)
--eiffel tower (at night it was pretty awesome)

after all of this we went back to our hotel (which by the way had no COLD water so we had to bathe in both the shower (with scalding hot water) and the sink (filled up with cold)...i developed a sweet cup system i might have to patent for other travelers taking advantage of cheap hotels that are lacking in amenities....

scam of the day was eating dinner at the Royale de Opera where we paid 15 euro for a piece of bread with ham and cheese on it and nothing else....
